Old Growler

Local, seasonal, and sustainable food & drink. Old Growler is a collaboration of professional misfits, each of them bringing their own skills and passion for the good stuff in life. Beer ---- When your good mates own the brewery making the best beer in town, you do the smart thing and partner up. The team from Young Henry's Brewery have four of our taps for their fantastic local brews and we also serve their cloudy cider. Our fifth tap is a guest tap, so stay tuned for word of other visiting brews, and if you're feeling adventurous, create your own beer by dry hopping one of our brews to change their dynamic and flavour profiles. Wine ---- Jed's Wines feel the same way about their product as we do. That it's natural and it should stay that way. Tom Egan of Jed's Wines has curated our list, made up of wines that are either organic, biodynamic, fair-trade, require minimal intervention in the winemaking process or are sustainably farmed. These are wines crafted with passion and care and that's why we're excited to share them with you. Food ---- Ours is a menu of shared, modern European food. True to our local, seasonal and sustainable goals, all our meat is free range and ethically sourced. 'Chefs cuts' and wild game are supplied by Urban Food Market and of course we only use 'Sustainable Seafood Guide' approved fish. And because we hate waste, spent grains from Young Henry's brewing process will help raise the beef that we'll serve in the bar, and we use spent yeast from the beer making process as a starter for our house-made bread.
