So, you’ve just picked up your new bike after parting with some hard earned cash, and are excited about joining the millions of cyclists hitting the road each year in Australia. That’s great! Cycling is a fantastic way to socialise with friends, compete against your mortal enemies, or do your bit to save the planet by commuting to work each day… not to mention staying fit and healthy. Now, while our streets are slowly becoming more cycle friendly, there are still some risks involved. Not only are there an average of 35 fatalities and 9000 serious injuries to cyclists due to road accidents per year, it is estimated that 1 in 10 bike owners are likely to have their bikes stolen within 5 years, with very few being returned to their rightful owners when recovered. Instead, they are sold at police auctions. This is where mybikeREGO.com comes in. Simply login, complete your registration with your contact info, as much detail about your bike as possible and someone to get in touch with in case of an emergency. Then you can cycle with peace of mind. If you’re involved in an accident it is quicker and easier for the authorities to identify you and make contact with your loved ones. Or, if your bike is stolen, you can login to your profile on mybikeREGO.com and update the bikes status online. When your bike is recovered by the police, they can search our secure database against the details provided by you and ensure your bike is returned as swiftly as possible. And not sold at auction! Should you decide to sell your bike, you can login to mybikeREGO.com and remove that bike from your profile. If you replace your bike, you can add it to your profile instead… Don’t forget to tell the new owner of your bike to register at mybikeREGO.com though of course ;-) So what are you waiting for? Register with mybikeREGO.com today and get on your bike!
