The Year 2012 was definitely a memorable one for Craig Braybrook Couture, cementing Braybrook’s reputation as one of the most accomplished Couture designers in Australia. At the 2012 Emirates Melbourne Cup, Craig Braybrook Couture took out the prestigious Fashions on the Field Designer Category with his yellow and white mod-inspired creation, which was a nod to the Sixties; Fashions on the Field was introduced at Flemington in 1962. It’s not the first time Craig Braybrook Couture has won the much-coveted Designer Category. He also won in 2009 and this outfit was featured as a part of the ‘Racing Style - 50 Years of Fashions on the Field’ Exhibition, which launched in October 2012 at the National Sports Museum in Melbourne, Australia. The book ‘Fashion & Flemington: A Carnival of Creativity, Culture, Class and Celebrity’ was also released in 2012 celebrating the Golden Anniversary of Fashions on the Field and it featured the eye-catching and colourful 2008 Craig Braybrook Couture Designer entry. The success continued in 2012 at the Australian Fashion Awards where Craig Braybrook Couture won Bridal Gown of the Year. Also in 2012, Craig Braybrook Couture was appointed the Designer for the Evening Gown of the International Miss Universe Competition for Australian Finalist Renae Ayris who finished in the Top 5 representing Australia. The Craig Braybrook Couture gown had an amazing response from judges and viewers around the world and was amongst the favourite by online media.
