Contender Gym

Our effective martial arts training will help improve your personal and mental health as we focus on training the body and mind to overcome all obstacles. At Contender Gym, we enforce discipline, respect and positive character development. We offer a variety of martial arts and fitness programs for both genders of all ages, from beginners through to elite fighters. Our qualified instructors have trained and competed in a range of martial arts that Contender Gym provides. These include: Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, MMA, BJJ and Karate. Contender Gym features a full 6x6 boxing ring, 8 sided MMA cage, a selection of resistance training, cardiovascular equipment, supervised sparring, matted grappling area, free weights, comprehensive group classes and personal training. Our membership entitles you to unlimited access to Contender Gym facilities. Owned and operated by Rony Rahme, he has been training in martial arts for the past 16 years. He started training at the age of 15 in Taekwondo, boxing and kickboxing by Master Sid Antaky. Rony's passion grew for kickboxing and he realised that achievement required more than just a vision. It took courage, determination and perseverance. In 2002, his mental and physical training and conditioning in kickboxing paid off when he became the WKBF Light Welter Weight East Coast Champion. He also achieved the WKBF NSW State Title in kickboxing. In his fighting career, Rony had 16 fights, 12 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses.
