I am a Certified Holistic Health & Wellness Practitioner. I am currently undertaking further study towards a Bachelor in Natural Medicine, majoring in Nutrition and Naturopathy. I am inspired by the concept of optimum health and wellness on all levels. I have experienced an interesting relationship with food for most of my life. At the age of 14 I was an aspiring fashion model, trying everything in my power to achieve the perfect body, the perfect look. I would constantly compare myself to every girl I thought might be skinnier or prettier then me. This mindset of comparison resulted in extreme and destructive self-loathing and I spiraled out of control into the painful world of distorted eating. Whenever something happened in my life I couldn’t handle emotionally I would resort to food. When I got stressed, I would eat. When I got angry, I would eat. If I felt I had upset someone, I would eat. If I felt fat...I would eat. Yep. Completely irrational. The fatter I felt, the more I ate At 27 I finally realized that my unhealthy relationship with food was taking over my life. I wanted to be happy, and I wanted more out of life. I met a very influential person who helped me turn my life around. I learnt that I have the choice in everything I do. I can choose to stay living in the nightmare world of an eating disorder, or I can choose to do something about it. I chose to do something about it! It has been a lot of hard work, to get to where I am today. To heal 10 years of a chaotic relationship with food was a real struggle. But I did it. My favourite things in life now are my early morning rituals, the beach, me-time in cafes, meditation and yoga, farmers’ markets, health-food stores and – most importantly – my amazing fiancé, family and friends. If I can transform my life from self-destruction to holistic living, then I know you can too. Through my experiences and learning I have collaborated with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition to develop a program to help men and women to make peace with themselves and their relationship with food. I am here to support you, nourish you and be there for you through the hard times. Self love and self-acceptance is the basis of my work.
